Some People Don't Want You to Heal

It may seem that everyone on earth seeks healing in one form or another. However, the reality can be quite surprising. Some individuals may not want you to heal, and while their reasons may stem from a place of selfishness, they are often rooted in their own experiences.

Some people don't want you healed because healed people stop taking advice from sick people. (Psalm 1:1, Proverbs 13:20)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people are loyal to truth, not just to people. (Proverbs 18:17,19, James 16:13)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people set healthy boundaries. (2 Corinthians 6:14, Proverbs 22:24 2 Corinthians 10:5)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people break generational chains instead of linking them. (Galatians 5:1, 2 Corinthians 10:5)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people stop feeding into arguments not seeking true resolve. (2 Timothy 2:23-24, James 1:19-30)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people don't believe everything they are told, they seek and discern for themselves. (1 John 4:1, Hebrews 5:14)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people cannot be controlled or manipulated. (Galatians 1:10, Colossians 3:23)

Some people don't want you healed because healed people react out of maturity and not emotionally. (1 Corinthians 14:20, 13:11, Ephesians 4:14-15)

The truth is that some people don't want you to heal because they can no longer utilize you in their rebellion against their own health.

There is a reason all the sick people gathered around the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-47. And it wasn't just to reach the healing waters. Sick people are often comforted by being around other sick people. Jesus has to ask the man if he wanted to be healed in 5:6, which seems like a silly question, right? But the reality is some people don't want to be healed because they benefit from being sick.

They benefit from being a victim because it brings them attention.

They benefit from emotional instability and using their emotions to control and manipulate others into doing what they want.

They benefit from the pressure to keep traditions going.

Jesus told the man after he was healed to take up his mat and walk, and the reason some of us need to do the same is because you cannot stay whole and healed in environments dedicated to sickness. Environments of abuse, addiction, avoidance, lack of self-control...

We also have to stop seeking approval from the person keeping the link going. We must realize that they are never going to applaud your healing because you had the bravery to do what they did not.

That healed man walked out of that sick camp all alone, and sometimes we will have to do the same if we are truly dedicated to healing, wholeness and walking in the freedom Christ died for us to possess.

Sincerely Selena
